Are you Turnitin or licensed by them?
Neither. No affiliation, no licence, no access to their model or its reports. This is an independent analysis tool.
Can you predict my Turnitin result?
No. Their output is not visible to us, so any prediction would be invented rather than derived.
Why publish no accuracy figure?
Because none has been measured for this system. A percentage implies calibration against a known ground truth, and printing one without that measurement would be fabrication.
Why is there no AI score?
The endpoint returns analytical prose. There is no scoring code, no band logic and no per-sentence structure in the implementation, so no score is offered.
Is the Turnitin checker free?
Yes, within an allowance of 5 runs per rolling 24 hours, shared with the other model-backed tools. No account and no payment.
What is the input bound?
1 to 12,000 characters, enforced before the request reaches the model, so an oversized submission fails at the boundary.
Is my text transmitted?
Yes. Analysis requires a model to read the text, so it goes to our server. This route has no local mode and we do not describe it as private.
Is the text retained?
No. It is forwarded to the model and the result returns. The only stored record is a run count and expiry against a hashed identifier.
Could my work enter a similarity archive?
No. We maintain no archive of submitted work and perform no matching against one.
Does this detect plagiarism?
No. Similarity detection requires a corpus of sources and we operate none, so an uncited paraphrase will not be surfaced.
When does the allowance regenerate?
The window rolls forward from each use, so runs return individually rather than resetting at a fixed daily boundary.
Can I submit a file?
No. The endpoint accepts a text string only, so a document has to be pasted as text.
What threshold indicates a problem?
We cannot say. Institutions set thresholds independently and generally do not publish them, so any fixed number quoted to you is someone's guess.
Which kinds of honest writing get flagged?
Formal academic register, rubric-driven prose, templated structure and second-language phrasing all produce the flat distributions detectors score as machine-like.
Why does that matter more than the detection rate?
Because the errors are asymmetric. A false positive produces an accusation a student cannot disprove, since an honest draft and an undetected one look identical.
How should I prioritise the findings?
By concentration rather than count. A paragraph that is uniformly mechanical carries far more signal than the same number of flat sentences spread across a long document.
Will this make writing undetectable?
No, and the claim is not available to any tool. Detection is probabilistic, flags human writing regularly, and no third party's verdict can be guaranteed.
Does language affect the analysis?
The model covers many languages with uneven quality, and second-language phrasing is itself a documented source of false positives, so read the findings with that in mind.
Why was a run refused?
Empty input, more than 12,000 characters, or an exhausted allowance. A temporarily unavailable message indicates the model service could not be reached.
How does this differ from a humanizer?
This describes the text without modifying it. A humanizer rewrites it. Neither can establish what any detector will subsequently report.
Do you have relationships with other detection vendors?
None. We are unaffiliated with GPTZero, Copyleaks and Originality.ai and make no claim about their outputs.
What is the strongest claim you will make for this tool?
That it identifies where your prose is uniform, repetitive or generic. That is a property of the text, verifiable by you, and it is the limit of what the method supports.
